I have zero experience... can I do it?
YES! If you have a bit of patience and the motivation to learn, you can absolutely learn. No one is perfect right off the bat, but if you enjoy the process.. you will thrive.
Are your kits beginner friendly?
While all of our kit instructions are designed as though you're brand-new to the craft, the designs vary in complexity. It all depends on your comfort level and how much you want to challenge yourself! Each kit description lists the difficulty level.
At what age can you begin to embroider?
We usually recommend 8+ for our beginner kits with adult supervision! Remember, needles and scissors are sharp - so proceed with caution.
What comes in your embroidery kits?
Each kit comes with everything you need - minus the scissors! Our full embroidery kits contain fabric, full skeins of DMC, an embroidery hoop and a pre-printed pattern. You are provided with a digital set of instructions, but paper options are available for the 6 & 7 inch kits.
What are all the layers of fabric for in my kit?
You have three layers of fabric in your kit. When I embroider, I always stitch through two layers of fabric at a time. This provides extra structure for the stitches and keeps the stitches from showing through the back of the fabric. You don’t have to use both layers - but as it’s my preference, I include it in all of my kits. The fun patterned fabric? For backing your piece at the very end.
How do I transfer the pattern?
Each kit comes with a pre-printed pattern on water-soluble stabilizer. It's an adhesive! Once you've stretched your fabric in the hoop, peel the backing off of your pattern and centre the pattern directly onto the fabric.
Once you've finished the piece, you can rinse away the stabilizer using warm water. Make sure you re-stretch your piece in the hoop while it's still damp! This prevents the fabric from shrinking or puckering.
What are the extra designs for in my kit?
The extra designs included in each kit are for future projects! These adhesives can be used on future projects from hoop pieces to your fave denim jacket!
How do I transfer the PDF pattern onto my fabric?
There are many ways to transfer a PDF pattern! I do recommend that you have access to a printer, as this makes everything a bit easier. You can use carbon paper, a heat-erase pen, or even put water-soluble stabilizer through an inkjet! Each pattern provides instructions on how to use a variety of transfer methods.
Do you create custom designs or kits?
Unfortunately, no. Each design is created as it is stitched before it is transformed into a PDF pattern or kit.
Do you sell wholesale?
Yes! To inquire about wholesale, you can visit our wholesale page to explore your options. We'd love to hear from you!
Where are your kits made?
All of our kits are designed and assembled in Edmonton, AB Canada. Our textiles, thread, and printed materials are sourced from Canadian suppliers. Our embroidery hoops are from Elbesee in the United Kingdom and our eco-friendly packaging is currently sourced from the United States.
When will my order ship?
We typically ship twice a week, so your order will generally ship between 1-3 business days. This may increase during sales or holiday seasons as I am only one human!
Do you take commissions?
I only take commissions every once in a while. This will be announced via the mailing list and is generally chosen via lottery.
